9th Haiti Trip – Vol. III<\/p>\n

After returning from the mountains, the project for the next few days till the Lindsey\u2019s<\/p>\n

Working on the drain pipes for the shower house<\/p><\/div>\n

left was to get a shower\/bathroom \u201caddition\u201d started for Yvrose.\u00a0 The entire family is still going to the bathroom in the \u201cport-a-potty\u201d sitting over a hole in the ground or the bushes.<\/p>\n

The guys worked hard moving dirt, digging the trench for the electric and water lines from the well, etc.\u00a0 They got the stem wall up and the drainage pipes set in preparation for pouring the floor before they left.<\/p>\n

Twin babies, Yvella and Gabriella<\/p><\/div>\n

Pierre Richard, Yvrose\u2019 husband, recently brought home two six-month-old twins, one with a (prayerfully temporary) dysfunctional lethargy.\u00a0 They took them in when their 19-year-old mother abandoned them because she was overwhelmed. Gabriella will just lay in her pack \u2018n play for a long time not moving.\u00a0 She holds her head at a funny angle and if you pick her up and straighten her neck a little, she will let out this little quiet moaning cry as if you are hurting her.\u00a0 In just the few days they have been with Yvrose\u2019 family, the babies are starting to move more. \u00a0Please pray for them that their arrested development will improve.<\/p>\n

After the Lindsey group left on Sunday, Victory Compassion came on Monday and brought some people to help. They got the floor poured in the shower house and started on the walls.\u00a0 Bill and I flew back to the states on Tuesday, completing another trip to Haiti.\u00a0We have since heard that Victory got the roof on the shower house!<\/p>\n

Bill plans to return to Haiti around Oct. 1st\u00a0to \u201cbeat on some doors\u201d in PAP to try to get our truck back before some friends from CA arrive to serve on the 9th.\u00a0 We are also trying to raise money to buy the fixtures for the shower house at Yvrose\u2019.\u00a0 Plumbing parts are very expensive in Haiti as everything has to be imported and tariffs on incoming goods are high.<\/p>\n

School starts October 1st\u00a0in Haiti.\u00a0 We plan to continue to support the school in the mountains of Pays-Pourri that enrolls over 180 children.\u00a0 Last year we spent $1000 on books for the school and it is time to purchase them again.\u00a0 Another school in the mountains at Chapelle was going to have to close.\u00a0 Some friends have pledged $100 a month to pay two teachers and some funds for books.\u00a0 But for the 140 children there, we really hope to hire at least one more teacher plus we need funds for more books and incidentals. In both schools, we would like to be able to feed the students lunch if the Lord provides the funds.<\/p>\n
