Bill returned to Haiti a week ago on Tuesday.\u00a0 He flew in on a flight with about 14 Mennonite mission workers who will be staying on the second floor of our home.\u00a0 We had always hoped that our home in Haiti would be used to house visiting workers and are happy that that has happened.<\/p>\n

You may remember that we had gone through a long ordeal trying to get legal tags for our truck in Haiti. \u00a0Bill had finally gone to Port au Prince and gotten it taken care of at the vehicle registration office there.<\/p>\n

Thursday, he drove to Mal Pass for some supplies, the border town with the DR with the customs office we had originally tried to work through to get the tags and failed. \u00a0He had his new papers for the truck and the tag. They stopped him and asked to see his papers because they recognized the truck and we had never completed the papers with them. When he showed them the papers, they took them and then had the police come and take his keys and the truck!!!<\/p>\n

He is now trying to get the truck back but so far has been unsuccessful. They say something that the PAP office did on the papers is wrong. \u00a0So we will see.<\/p>\n

A couple of good things have already come of this unfortunate thing. \u00a0One, our Haitian friends were all just furious about it. \u00a0Bill was calm and told them it was alright and that God was in control! It was good for them to see his reaction to the situation.<\/p>\n

The other thing is that with no truck, Bill has been unable to do many of the things he<\/p>\n

usually does. \u00a0Instead, he has been going back to the village next door that we had gotten side tracked from when the cholera epidemic hit and we got involved with Yvrose.\u00a0 He has been seeking to bless a few of the people there who are in desperate situations and has already been able to help with pain medication for Polymene, the grandmother we know, who had sprained her ankle, food for a mother with sick children who had none, and other things.<\/p>\n

We would like for you to pray about the truck.\u00a0 A couple of young men were coming later this month to work on Yvrose\u2019 place or the village roofs but we cannot get materials without the truck.\u00a0 The biggest disadvantage is that we cannot haul water for people which is something we always love to do. We are hoping to get the truck back soon.\u00a0 Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
