up like a Christmas tree! Such a small thing and yet in Haiti, simple things bring much joy!

Pierre-Richard and Yvrose have just begun holding church services in one of the school tents on Sunday morning. The morning Bill and I came, there were several additional children and adults. Because Yvrose can translate, Bill was able to share with them from the scriptures. Because many of them are so young, I read them a children’s story by Max Lucado, The Crippled Lamb. With so many injured and handicapped people in Haiti, it had a wonderful message that God can use everyone and has a plan for their lives. The children loved it!

Lovenson

I would like to share the story of one of Yvrose’s “children”. Lovenson, “Vince”, is 16 months old. Yvrose heard of him about six weeks ago. His mother had left the family and gone to the Dominican Republic. His father would set him in a chair in the village and leave him. He sat there all day in his own waste and if someone in the village wanted to, they might feed him something. His father would return in the evening. Yvrose asked if she could take the baby and the father agreed. The first week he was with the family, if someone wasn’t holding him, he would sit in a chair, not move, and never smile. After about a week, with the family’s encouragement, he started moving around, trying to walk, and he started to smile a little. By the time I took the attached picture, he had been with the family over a month. Today, he is a totally different child!

As you may recall, in my last update I told you we wanted to try to raise the money to have a well drilled for Yvrose and the community surrounding her home. A friend has told us he would match any donations we receive for that purpose up to $3000!! That means we only need to raise $3000 from everyone else to have the money for the well! Please prayerfully consider helping with this project.

One of the things that so blesses us about Yvrose is that she is such an example in her community. She loves the Lord and is teaching her children to do so. She gives and gives in so many different ways. If you possibly can, please help us with a donation for the well to bless her and her community. Thank you so much.

May we all have hearts that yearn to be faithful. God bless you.

Bill and I returned
